Kroger Coupon Policy
Individual Kroger Store policy on coupons very a bit. Please feel free to contact me to add your comments to document the various Kroger store policies. Every bit helps!
Be sure to check your weekly circular as this will tell you if your Kroger is going to double coupons up to $.50 or $1.00. Most Kroger stores only double coupons with face value of $.50 or less. If the product costs less than the doubled coupon value, the coupon will be calculated to be the product cost. In other words there will be no overage or cash credit for the item.
(Update: Kroger does not promote overage, however their register system sometimes allows for an overage.

After using the $1 coupon, there is a $.20 credit. The method for calculating overage may vary. In a perfect world, the Kroger register would down-value the coupon. Until this is fixed, there will be overage to use on the other items in your transaction.
Most stores will only double up to three like coupons. The remaining like coupons will be redeemed at face value. I suggest making multiple visits. Please provide a resonable time span between visits as it is not very considerate to wipe out a stores inventory and hord everything while leaving all others empty handed (not that you would).
BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) Policy: Be aware of this unique Kroger policy. When an item is stated to be BOGO free it is actually rung up as two items for half price. If you only want one item you can buy it for 1/2 price, but if you want to use a manufacturer BOGO coupon with the sale you will end up paying half the price of one and receive 2 items. You can use 2 manufacturer coupons (except BOGO) for a BOGO Kroger sale for great savings.
Competitor’s coupons are not accepted.
Internet coupon policy: Kroger accepts Internet printable coupons as long as they scan. Typically, they will accept 3 Internet coupons per transaction.
Raincheck policy: Rainchecks expire 30 days from the day they are written at Kroger.
Store Loyalty Card
Kroger requires use of the Kroger Plus Card to receive the weekly advertised price. Visit the Customer Service desk to request a card.
When you register your Store Loyalty Card, you will begin to receive Home Mailer coupons. Also load your Kroger Plus Card number to your Upromise account to receive further savings.
eCoupons
There are several eCoupon sites available to use at Kroger. You must register with each site and input your Kroger Plus Card information. Active eCoupon sites include:
- Shortcuts – Discounts are taken at register.
- Upromise eCoupons – Discounts are loaded into your Upromise account.
- Cellfire – Discounts are taken at register.
- Kroger eCoupon site
These sites are all subject to change.
Stacking eCoupons
You cannot stack eCoupons. It technically will work. However, it is essentially using two manufacturer coupons on one product. Since the product to manufacturer coupon relationship should be 1 to 1, it is easy to see how it’s not legitimate.
Reusable Bag Credit
Kroger offers 5 Cents per reusable bag used for each shopping visit. Simply tell your cashier how many bags you are using and they will apply the credit to your transaction.
