There are many rules to follow to get the most savings at Target’. If you need to find a Target near you you can use the Target store locator here.
Here’s what you need to know:
Sale Dates:
Weekly Target sales start Monday and run through Saturday. Their weekly ad can be found in Sundays’ newspaper inserts.
Coupons:
Target has store coupons that you can print directly from their website that may be stacked with manufacturer coupons. These Targets coupons can be located here.
- Target will accept one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item (unless either coupon prohibits it)
- Super Target coupons can be used in any Target store if the store carries the item
- Internet printed coupons are accepted
- Any coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
- Target will not accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried

Target Gift Card Deals:
Occasionally you will see Target Gift Card deals. These deals can run weekly, monthly or longer. Watch for these deals in the weekly flyer. You also may find some of these sweet deals non-advertised but on signs in the stores. Keep your eyes peeled for these! To get these gift cards you will be required to buy specific items and then when you check out the cashier is prompted to give you a gift card which you can use on your next purchase. The awesome thing about these gift card deals is that you can do them over and over or in other words roll them
At the Register:
Couponing at Target can sometimes be a daunting task. I’ve found that you can get a crabby cashier at least 1 out of 3 visits. Don’t let this discourage you. Keep in mind you are doing nothing wrong and that Target and the Manufacturers encourage you to use the coupons and buy their products. So… step right up and upon checkout, after everything has been rung up, hand over your Manufacturer coupons. After those are settled, then hand over your Target Coupons. This will reduce your chances of somthing beeping on the coupons causing the cashier to question purchases and we really don’t want to go there! Then, if you have a gift card use that and then pay any balance how you would normally and your done!
Remeber, don’t let it get under your skin if a cashier or manager just won’t or can’t understand your coupon deal. Just have them take it off your purchase and try again another day or just chalk it up to one that got away. There are plenty more fish in the sea so we don’t need to catch every one
Around the Store:
Every Target store is arranged differently and can be very confusing. For instance, at my local Target you can find Kleenex in the isles at the front of the store directly to the left of the cashiers AND in the middle of the store towards the back near household items. This used to drive me CRAZY when looking for my specific deals. When you go to Target to score on various deals and freebies keep in mind the chances of nabbing all of the deals you expect are slim to none… just be happy for what you do get as any freebie or deal is good
.
Clearance Sales:
Another thing to look out for are Target clearance sales. You can find some great discounts on these things and they are not advertised. They are typically found around the perimeter of the store on the endcaps (end of the isle) and outside walls and will have red/orange clearance tags. Some of these things will be marked down as much as 90%! You’ll be hooked as soon as you score that first item, especially since you probably were not expecting to nab these particular freebies when you walked in. Especially if you should happen to have a coupon for the clearance item. WOO HOO! Many couponers/Targetiers call this perimeter perusing. Expect to spend a bit of time hunting down both advertised deals and non-advertised clearance items.
